Nation records 182 Covid-19 cases

KUCHING, Sept 11: The number of new Covid-19 positive cases in Malaysia has jumped to 182 today.

Ministry of Health (MOH) director general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement said out of the 182 cases, only one was import, while the rest were local transmissions.

Of the 181 local cases, 90 were Malaysians and the remaining 91 were foreigners.


“Sabah registered the most today, with 167 cases from Benteng LD Cluster.

“Of the 167 cases, 76 are Malaysians of which 70 are prison inmates while the other six were detected through close contact screening.

The remaining 91 cases from this cluster are foreigners from Philippines (61) and Indonesia (30),” Dr Noor Hisham disclosed.

Meanwhile, Kedah recorded 14 cases, of which 11 came from Sungai Cluster and three from Telaga Cluster.

Selangor recorded one case.

“To-date, the total number of cumulative cases in Malaysia is now at 9,810 and the number of active cases as of today stands at 501.

No fatality was reported to the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) today, making the total number of cumulative death death cases remained at 128,” he added.

MOH also announced that 14 more patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals, bringing the rate of recovery to 9,181 cases.

There are nine patients being treated in the intensive care unit including five that needed ventilator support.—DayakDaily
