Nanta: Expect smoother, more stable Johor govt from Barisan Nasional

Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi

KUCHING, March 14: The people of Johor can finally expect a smoother and more stable administration by the new state government for the sake of well-being and economic recovery, as the country moves towards a post-Covid-19 situation.

In stating this, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) secretary-general Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi congratulated Barisan Nasional (BN) for its landslide victory in the recently concluded Johor election on March 12.

ā€œThis victory means a lot to BN itself and to the people of Johor as a whole, especially when the country is heading into the ā€˜Transition to Endemic Phaseā€™ as announced by the Prime Minister Dato Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob recently.

ā€œFor BN, the victory of 40 seats means that they obtained a majority of more than two-thirds and managed to achieve the main objective targeted previously, which is to form a new state government that is strong, stable and conducive.

ā€œThis is important in planning the direction of development and management of the state, especially in approving important proposals in the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) later,ā€ he said in a statement today.

Nanta who is also the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Minister-cum-Kapit MP further hoped that all politicians can shift their focus towards all efforts in developing Johor and the economic recovery of the state and the country.

ā€œI hope the opposition can also play their role to provide ā€˜check and balanceā€™ on the government.

ā€œThe people of Johor have decided and all parties should respect their decision. Let us all set aside our differences and give priority towards the people and the country,ā€ he emphasised. ā€” DayakDaily
