Najib’s sentencing restores world’s confidence in Malaysia

KUCHING, Aug 26: The Federal Court of Malaysia’s decisive judgment on ex-Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s sentence has restored the world’s confidence in the country.

Political pundit Dato Peter Minos said the Chief Justice also conveyed a powerful message to all Malaysians that the country operates by the Rule of Law and that the Federal Constitution and its laws are supreme.

“Most Malaysians felt bad, ashamed or even down ever since the 1MDB scandal broke out in 2018.

“I think many foreigners and other nations knew something was wrong and awful in Malaysia. Thus they looked down on the nation.

“From now on, Malaysia can pick up the pieces and rise politically and economically. It is a matter of time when Malaysia will start running again,” he said in a statement today.

Minos said Malaysia’s reputation and dignity would be restored in the eyes of the world when fresh, good top leaders emerge after the coming 15th General Election (GE15).

He said Malaysia is currently in a situation where “what comes down will come up”, and Malaysia’s rising is owed to the nation’s judicial system that was aptly said to have “saved Malaysia”. — DayakDaily
