KUCHING, Aug 3: Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) cordoned off an area along the Kuching Waterfront with barrier tape where some 40 pigeon carcasses were discovered by the public yesterday morning (August 2).
In a statement today, DBKU said this is to ensure members of the public do not enter into the cordoned area as a precautionary measure as it is taking the incident seriously, and an investigation into the deaths is ongoing.
Yesterday, members of the public found several dead pigeons on the ground on Gambier Street at the Kuching Waterfront. Photos were widely shared on a social media platform.
Samples from the pigeon carcasses have been taken by Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) to determine the cause of death. — DayakDaily
