KUCHING, Aug 20: Road users may now file complaints on issues such as potholes or damaged roads through MYJalan, a mobile app developed by the Malaysian government through Ministry of Works (KKR).
Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the app welcomes the channeling of all road-related complaints such as damaged roads, potholes, or issues related to road furniture.
“The development of the MYJalan app will become a local complaint platform or ‘One-Stop Centre’ to make it easier for users to make complaints even if the road is not maintained by KKR in accordance with the principle of ‘No Wrong Door Policy’ especially in times of emergency.
“The MYJalan app opens space and opportunities for users to make complaints without confusion about the specific channels for road-related complaints,” he said.
The mobile app can be downloaded from Apple Appstore or Google Playstore.
At the same time, the launch of the MYJalan app is in line with the launch of MYJalan Campaign, an initiative to foster awareness on shared responsibility for Malaysian roads and to address pressing issues like road damage and potholes.
Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to launch the Campaign at Tasik Awam Banding Jetty in Perak on Aug 24.
Nanta stated that through the MYJalan Campaign, the people would gain exposure and understanding about the types of roads and the responsibilities of the parties concerned.
“With this advocacy effort, I believe the people will become more aware and the quality of the roads will also improve,” he added. — DayakDaily
