KUCHING, Jan 25: Three suspects who were caught in relation to the killing of a businessman were today further remanded for another four days — until Jan 29.

The suspects, aged 27, 28, and 37, were brought to the Magistrate’s Court as their previous remand order expires today, and police needed more time to facilitate investigation into the case.

The 27-year-old suspect was caught on Jan 13 and has been in remand for 10 days, whereas the 28-year-old and 37-year-old suspects were caught on Jan 14 and have been in remand for 9 days.

The investigating officer of this case actually applied for a further seven-day remand, but Magistrate Mohd Syukri Mokhtar only allowed the police to remand the three suspects for another four days.

Police have so far arrested six suspects, including a female suspect who has been released. Another two suspects have been further remanded until Jan 28.

Meanwhile, the 37-year-old suspect is represented by Counsel Roger Chin and Michael Kong. — DayakDaily
