Muhyiddin on home-quarantine after exposure to Covid-19 patient

KUCHING, May 22: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is on a 14-day self-quarantine at home starting today (May 22) after he was exposed to a Covid-19 positive case recently.

Prime Minister’s Department in a statement today said an officer who attended a post Cabinet meeting which was chaired by Muhyiddin last Wednesday (May 20) had tested positive for Covid-19.

According to the statement, Muhyiddin is required to undergo self-quarantine according to the Supervision and Observation Order for Covid-19 Section 15(1) Act 342 due to close contact with Covid-19 patient.


The statement revealed that Muhyiddin had earlier this morning (May 22) gone for a Covid-19 swab test and his results were negative.

All members who attended the post Cabinet meeting are instructed to undergo Covid-19 swab tests and undergo self-quarantine at home.

It stated that all meetings at the Prime Minister’s Department were conducted with social distancing rules and high level of cleanliness.—DayakDaily
