KUCHING, Jan 30: Muara Tuang assemblyman Dato Idris Buang has called on relevant authorities to come together with measures to address traffic congestion along the Jalan Kuching-Samarahan Expressway.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Idris said the authorities should station their traffic officers to help control the traffic flow, especially at the roundabouts.
“I am aware of the severe traffic congestion along the expressway, especially during peak hours, and it has become a hot discussion on social media.
“For this reason, I request that the Public Works Department (JKR), Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS), and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) strengthen their cooperation to discuss what are the best measures that can be taken to overcome this problem,” said Idris when attending a KMKK (Ketua Masyarakat, Ketua Kaum) Samarahan district thanksgiving ceremony held in Samarahan Civic Centre on Friday.
Meanwhile, during the ceremony, Idris also announced an allocation of RM50,000 under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) to be distributed to the KMKK in Samarahan district for their yearly activities. — DayakDaily
