KUCHING, Feb 25: Malaysia Debt Ventures (MDV) Berhad is set to provide an RM30 million loan to eligible local companies to expedite the development of telecommunication in Sarawak.
In a statement today, Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) said 11 companies were briefed by MDV Berhad senior vice president Sharul Sazmanon at the SMA office on Feb 23.
According to SMA general manager Dr Zaidi Razak, this ensures that the companies involved would not have issues with the lack of funds.
He said apart from bank loans, these loans would be a stepping stone for local contractors and entrepreneurs to accelerate the implementation of the projects further.
“This is our effort to ensure that the Post-Covid-19 Sarawak Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 vision is achieved for the benefit of the people,” he added.
MDV Berhad is a subsidiary of the Ministry of Finance (MOF). — DayakDaily
