KUCHING, Nov 19: Assistant Minister of Transport Datuk Dr Jerip today disbursed grants worth RM203,000 under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) to 33 recipients.
He said the allocation is for organisations to carry out their respective activities and for individuals to pursue their education at institutions of higher learning.
“I am giving priority in matters related to education, while not neglecting organisations.
“It will be a waste of human capital if our children are not able to pursue their education,” Dr Jerip said at a handover ceremony at Kpg Emperoh Giam.
Dr Jerip explained that in most cases, parents would find it difficult to enrol their children in universities due to financial constraints.
“This is where the grants come in to help them,” said the Mambong incumbent.
Dr Jerip added that his service centre also provides assistance to poor families to help with their children’s education.
