KUCHING, Nov 28: A driver escaped unharmed after his vehicle caught fire at Datuk Abang Haji Kipali roundabout in Petra Jaya, here, today.
State Fire and Rescue operation centre received the distress call at 1.13pm and a team of six firefighters were immediately deployed to the scene.
“Upon arriving at the scene, the firefighters found that the engine bay of a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) was totally damaged in the incident.
“The driver, however, managed to escape from the vehicle unharmed,” the statement said.
Firefighters successfully put out the fire and the operation ended at 1.30pm, after ensuring the area is under control and safe for other road users. — DayakDaily
