MPP to hold anti-rabies vaccination drive on June 28 with RM150 neutering subsidy

PADAWAN, June 26: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) is stepping up efforts to combat rabies and encourage responsible pet ownership with the launch of a Free Dog Licensing, Anti-Rabies Vaccination and Microchipping Programme, which will be held this Saturday (June 28), at the parking lot of the Kota Sentosa basketball court.

Announced during the MPP full council meeting on Wednesday (June 25), the initiative is jointly organised with the Department of Veterinary Services Sarawak (DVSS) and supported by the Kota Sentosa Basketball Club.

MPP chairman Tan Kai urged all dog owners in Padawan to participate in the programme, which offers free services including anti-rabies vaccination, microchipping, and licensing of dogs.

“This programme reflects our strong commitment to curbing the spread of rabies while promoting responsible pet ownership,” he said in a statement.

In addition to the free services, MPP is also offering a RM150 neutering subsidy for the first 50 dogs that are vaccinated, licensed, and registered with the Council during the event.

Tan extended his gratitude to the Kota Sentosa Basketball Club for their collaboration, saying their support plays an important role in making the health and safety programme a success.

Members of the public, especially pet owners in the Padawan jurisdiction, are encouraged to come early and take advantage of the one-day event to ensure their pets are protected and compliant with local regulations. — DayakDaily
