KUCHING, Sept 22: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) condemned the actions of a developer responsible for setting up a utility pole in the middle of the road.
The council said it had taken the developer to task by issuing a compound for the latter’s failure to comply with safety measures.
“On the standalone pole in the newly completed road pavement at the junction leading to Lorong Batu Kawa 3G, the council strongly condemned the irresponsible developer and their supervising professional engineer for their failures to exercise necessary precautions as is the norm by putting up safety measures like barricades, warning signs and blinking lights to warn the public at large.
“For their failure, the council has issued a compound. This is an ongoing private housing development which has yet to be completed,” said MPP in a statement today.
MPP stated that it always sought and looked forward to the meaningful cooperation from developers and utilities companies and regulating agencies alike to keep the council abreast of ongoing developments. — DayakDaily
