KUCHING, April 23: Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib, the wife of the late former Sarawak Head of State (TYT) Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, has expressed her commitment to remain in Malaysia and carry on her late husband’s legacy by providing support to the people of Sarawak through the Ragad Foundation.

Raghad revealed in a post on her official Instagram account that she is now living in Kuala Lumpur and is going through her ‘Iddah’ period, which is the time a woman must spend in mourning following the passing of her husband.

“Your inquiries regarding my whereabouts and the Iddah are not only thoughtful but also a testament to the caring nature of our community,” read the post caption.

“Alhamdulillah, I am still in Malaysia, fighting for my right to return to my home in Kuching.

“I’m currently residing in KL observing my Iddah while waiting for certain matters to be finalised.

“There is an uphill battle ahead but I’m prepared to stand up for myself as a woman and as a wife to the late Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.”

Raghad also requested that the community keep her in their thoughts and prayers, urging everyone to support and uplift each other. — DayakDaily
