KUCHING, April 13: To celebrate Ramadan, 500 packets of spiced porridge (bubur lambuk) were distributed to staff members from various ministries and departments today at the Baitulmakmur Building 1, Petra Jaya in Kuching.
According to a MOTS press release, the programme, which was organised by the Ministry of Transport Sarawak (MOTS) in collaboration with the MOTS Social and Recreation Club, was officiated by its minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, and deputy minister (Aviation and Road) Datuk Dr Jerip Susil.
The distribution of bubur lambuk is an annual MOTS charity programme that aims to liven up the month of Ramadan with charitable activities while reaping the blessings and virtues of Ramadhan.
According to Lee, such a noble programme should become a Ramadan tradition, and it is hoped that it will be continued in the future.
Also present at the programme were MOTS permanent secretary Dato Ir Alice Jawan Empaling and MOTS staff. — DayakDaily
