Motorcyclist killed in self-accident at Senadin roundabout

MIRI, Sept 10: A 42-year-old motorcyclist was killed after he lost control of his ride and was thrown into a drain at Senadin roundabout, near Tenby International School on Sunday night (Sept 9).

The incident happened around 10.30pm.

Emergency services including three police motorcycle patrol units found Thomas Jupan’s lifeless body inside the drain of the roundabout.

He had suffered multiple injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene, disclosed Miri police chief, ACP Lim Meng Seah via a statement on Monday.

Prior to the incident, Thomas was riding heading towards Senadin from Jalan Kuala Baram Bypass.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased had lost control of his motorcycle before crashing, said ACP Lim.

The body was taken to Miri Hospital morgue for a post mortem.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
