MIRI, Dec 18: A man was found dead inside a monsoon drain beside his motorcycle along Jalan Bakam in Tukau on Wednesday morning.
The man was found face down inside the monsoon drain by passers-by who immediately alerted police and the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba).
Firefighters from the Miri fire station led by PKB II Roslan Jam rushed to the scene upon receiving the alert at 8.18am.
It is believed that the deceased, 45, from Kampung Pujut Padang Kerbau, could have been involved in a self-accident.
He was believed to have been coming from Tukau heading towards the city centre when the motorcycle he was riding on suddenly veered into the drain.
The body was recovered from the drain by Bomba personnel and has been taken to Miri Hospital morgue.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
