KUCHING, Aug 8: A 60-year-old man died yesterday evening after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a vehicle at KM20, Jalan Lundu-Bau near Kampung Stungkor Baru.
In the 6.30pm incident, Runge Londek from Kampung Gumbang, Jalan Bau-Serikin, was pronounced dead by doctors at Lundu Hospital.
According to Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, preliminary investigations showed that the victim was riding from the Bau-Lundu direction when he abruptly entered the opposite lane.
The victim collided with an oncoming vehicle, a Perodua Axia, which was heading to Kuching. Both vehicles are now at Puspakom Lundu for further investigation.
It is understood that the driver escaped without any injuries.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
