KUCHING, Nov 16: A man in his fifties was killed in a crash at Kampung Muhibbah along Jalan Tanjung Bako yesterday (Nov 15) after his motorcycle collided with a stationary tipper lorry.

“He was travelling straight when he was believed to have lost control, skidded and crashed into the right side of a lorry that had been parked at a bend for soil disposal work,” Kuching District Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said in a statement.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at about 3.45pm by a medical assistant from Sarawak General Hospital.
Police have opened an investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving causing death. The offence carries a prison term of up to ten years and a RM50,000 fine upon conviction.
Alexson reminded road users to remain alert and obey traffic rules at all times to prevent further tragedies. — DayakDaily
