BINTULU, Nov 26: A 19-year-old motorcyclist was killed after an accident involving a lorry near the Deiken Jalan Tanjung Kidurong traffic lights today (Tuesday) .
According to Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
“The lorry driver, a 25-year-old man was unharmed and is currently assisting police with investigations,” he said.
Prior to the incident, the motorcycle had veered out of control upon approaching the traffic lights before it crashed into the lorry.
In the 3pm incident, the rider was thrown from the bike and landed on the road before he was run over by the moving lorry.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
