KUCHING, Sept 19: A 41-year-old woman was killed while her 19-year-old son was injured after the Perodua Aruz SUV they were travelling in was involved in an accident at the Mukah-Selangau Junction flyover here this evening.
In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 5.01pm, and firefighters from the Selangau station were deployed.
The woman, identified as Patricia Gula Lumun, was the driver of the SUV and was trapped inside the vehicle following the crash.
Her son was rescued from the vehicle by members of the public and taken to hospital before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters subsequently used rescue equipment to extricate the victim from the wreckage, and she was later pronounced dead at the scene by Ministry of Health personnel.
Her remains were handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
