KUCHING, Oct 23: The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) is inviting cultural practitioners to apply for the Cultural Sector Support Grant (GSSK) 2025, which is open for applications from Jan 1 to Nov 30, 2025, subject to fund availability.
The GSSK is a matching-grant initiative that provides financial assistance of up to RM500,000 per project, depending on the scale and impact of the programme.
It forms part of the ministry’s broader RM150 million allocation under Budget 2025 to strengthen cultural and arts initiatives in preparation for the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.
In a statement, MOTAC said that eligible programmes, activities and events must take place between Feb 28 and Dec 31, 2025. Any implementation beyond that period will not be allowed.
“No programme or event is permitted to proceed until applicants have received the official Letter of Acceptance (SST) from MOTAC.
“The issuance of the SST or formal contract agreement must be completed before any programme begins to ensure transparent internal control and to prevent any misuse or leakages in the disbursement of the grant, in line with existing financial regulations,” the ministry said.
Those interested can obtain further information and the full guidelines for GSSK 2025 via MOTAC’s website at www.motac.gov.my or contact the Cultural Sector Support Grant Secretariat at the Cultural Policy Division, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Putrajaya.
For inquiries, the public may call 03-8891 7372 / 7094 / 7537 / 7592, the main hotline at 018-3851 871, or email gssk@motac.gov.my. – DayakDaily
