KANOWIT, Feb 23: A two-storey wooden stilt house at Jalan Cinema suffered extensive damage in a morning fire today.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to an emergency at 8.49am and immediately mobilised a team of firefighters from the Kanowit Station to the location.
Firefighters estimated that 90 per cent of the structure was damaged in the fire.
However, no injuries or casualties were reported as the owner and a female renter emerged unharmed.
Firefighters successfully brought the fire under control at 9.30am and fully extinguished it by 10.10am while ensuring no sources of ignition remained.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. — DayakDaily
