BINTULU, Sept 28: Two chicken farming houses, including a five-tonne excavator, were completely destroyed by a morning fire at Jalan Sungai Sap in Tatau today.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak said a team of firefighters from the Tatau Station was immediately despatched to the scene following an emergency call at 2.30am.
Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters discovered that Block 2 and 3 of the chicken farm were already engulfed in flames.
The firefighting efforts persisted until 6.50am, when the blaze was successfully extinguished.
Subsequently, thorough overhauling procedures were conducted to ensure no potential sources of ignition remained.
No injuries or casualties were reported as a result of the fire. However, the cause of the fire and the extent of the losses incurred are currently under investigation. — DayakDaily
