More rural areas fall under EMCO in effort to curb spread of Covid-19

KUCHING, June 18: Nine localities in Sungai Rasau of Batang Igan in Matu have been put under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) starting today (June 18, 2021) until July 1.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, the decision was made in order to curb the spread of the virus among the local population in the area.

The affected localities are Rh Salim anak Unang; Rh Judy anak Kidi; Rh Mathew anak Merang; Rh Daggang anak Ujang; Rh. Lait anak Ijang; Rh Chandi anak Kilau; Rh Putit anak Jugah; Rh Sadin anak Jeli; and Rh Mador anak Rendah.


Three other localities that are subject to the EMCO as announced by the SDMC starting today (June 18) until July 4, are Rh Minggu in Sg Kotak and Rh Masni in Skim B, both of Bintangor in Meradong district, while for Rh Miskin in Mile 13Ā½, along Oya road of Sibu, the EMCO implementation will start on Sunday (June 20) until July 3.

For three localities, namely Rh Marphy in Selanjang Sebemban Asal of Pantu and Rh Kilon in Sebu Ulu of Tanjung Bijat, both in Sri Aman, including in Rh Jau Dungau in Long Seripa of Tubau in Sebauh, the EMCO implementation has already started since yesterday (June 17) until June 30.

On the same note, SDMC also announced the extension of EMCO implemented in Gabong Trading Sdn Bhd worker quarters camp in Tatau and Rh Unya Jambu Arak Skrang in Sri Aman, from June 18 until June 24.

Meanwhile, SDMC also ended the EMCO implementation in five localities today (June 18), namely in Rich Drive workers quarter in Bintulu; Rh Jack in Lichok of Seblak Roban in Betong; Rh Nawin in Sg Oyan of Bukit Mabong; Rh Tuntun Seduku in Lingga of Sri Aman, and Malaysia WCT Construction Sdn Bhd workers quarters in Tatau.

While for four other localities, involving Rh Morse anak Ungkak in Lubuk Pass Teluk Batu of Tatau; Rh Micheal Junus anak Rekan in Rantau Aur Nanga Tekalit of Tatau; Rh Chalie anak Mbo in Sungai Sawa along Jalan Ulu Spur of Sebauh; and rented house (next to MDS Mart) in Samalaju of Bintulu, the EMCO implemented has already ended yesterday (June 17). ā€” DayakDaily
