KUCHING, Oct 1: The Mooncake Festival 2025 will take place at the Malaysia-China Friendship Park from Oct 2 to 12, running nightly from 4pm to 11pm, featuring live music performances, colourful lantern displays, and a vibrant food bazaar.

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said the festival is among the most meaningful celebrations, bringing families and friends together to share mooncakes and enjoy the beauty of the full moon.

Jointly organised by Isekai and the MBKS, the event seeks to strengthen community spirit while preserving traditions for the younger generation.

“We want the younger generation to understand what the Mooncake Festival is truly about—not just playing with lanterns and eating mooncakes,” he said during a press conference at MBKS’ headquarters today.

Highlights include Harmonix Liveband, DJ sessions, busking by young local singers, and a special Chinese instrumental performance by Y.Q Music Studio, followed by Harmonix Liveband on Oct 6, which marks the official Mooncake Festival Day.

Children will also receive free lanterns and mooncakes, while visitors can enjoy photo spots, family games, and a wide range of food offerings, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.

“The spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival is about togetherness, and we want everyone to feel the joy of this celebration,” Wee added.

The festival promises an enchanting blend of tradition and creativity, inviting Kuching residents to celebrate the Mid-Autumn spirit with their loved ones.— DayakDaily
