Mitsubishi delegation pays courtesy call on Abang Johari

KUCHING, Jan 22: A delegation from Mitsubishi Corporation Malaysia paid a courtesy call to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at the latter’s office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here on Friday.

The Mitsubishi delegation was led by its chief executive Masashi Shiraishi.

Both parties discussed collaborations between Mitsubishi and the Sarawak government in the brief meeting.


Mitsubishi Corporation Malaysia, located at the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, is a multinational company from Japan that is also involved in Malaysia’s natural gas industry project.

Apart from that, the company also has a commitment with the Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC).

On the same day, Abang Johari also received a courtesy visit from Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) president Datuk Misnu Taha, accompanied by Sarawak Islamic Religion Department (Jais) director Khalidi Ibrahim.

In the meeting that lasted about 30 minutes, Abang Johari was introduced to SIC committee members for the 2021-2024 term.
