LUBOK ANTU, May 3: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing says whatever misunderstanding the party has with United People’s Party (UPP) Youth chief Dr Johnichal Rayong has already been amicably resolved.
He thus called on his party members to continue to remain where they are and continue in their efforts to give full assistance to Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates in their areas.
He said at a Salcra function here this morning, both sides had a good chat and an understanding has been reached.
“We urge all PRS members not to get too emotional but to stay put where they are and give BN candidates the best support they can to win as many seats as they can, and win with as big a majority as they can in this election.
“Whatever misunderstanding PRS grassroot chiefs in Lubok Antu have with YB Rayong is resolved. We have come to an understanding. We have agreed to stop the buck here and no further statement shall be issued regarding this episode. That way, we move on together as a team.
“Let us deliver the seats for our Chief Minister (Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg) and try our best to win as many as 28 seats which he is targeting,” said Masing who is Deputy Chief Minister in a statement today.
There has been many complaints on the ground that Johnichal who is also Engkilili assemblyman was assisting Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate Nicholas Bawin in Lubok Antu constituency while campaigning against BN-PRS new face Robert Pasang Alam.
This has led to some PRS members raising the issue of pulling out their resources in areas their candidates are not contesting and channeling all their resources to Lubok Antu. — DayakDaily
