KUCHING, June 27: A 99-year-old senior citizen, who was reported missing on June 25, was found safe two kilometres away from his house at Arur Ritan Pa Lungan, Bario on Saturday afternoon.
The victim was reported missing by his family members after he went out to the forest looking for logs and failed to return home on the same day.
The victim’s family then searched for him with help from other agencies, comprising the Bario Police, Volunteer Fire and Rescue Force and others.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) report, the victim was later found by the search and rescue (SAR) team two kilometres away from his house around 1.25 pm.
None the worst for wear, the victim was given clothes and blankets to keep himself warm and was being brought out from the forest by the SAR team.-DayakDaily
