Engkilili, Oct 2: Missing farmer Kanyan Bakar has been found safe and well by search and rescue personnel last night.
Kanyan, 34, from Rh Lampas, Titok Ulu Atas, Nanga Guram, had failed to return home since Sept 29.
Kayan was said to have gone to their family’s farm near the longhouse.
The SAR operation was immediately launched after he was reported missing by his father Bakar Mangka, 60, yesterday afternoon.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) personnel from Betong firestation led by Henry Jugah, police and villagers eventually found the victim at about 7.35pm inside a farm hut, about one hour-and-a-half hours’ walk (3km) from the longhouse.
“The victim said throughout the two days, he was busy setting up traps in the plantation,” Jugah said. — DayakDaily
