MIRI, Oct 14: MiriFM plans to air ‘Sape’ tunes non-stop for two days sometime this December to get into the Malaysia Book of Records and to promote the resort city domestically and globally.

RTM Miri controller Zaidi Bujang this initiative was at the proposal stage and hoped the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture would assist the station to make it a success.

Zaidi said this at the launching of its futsal competition held in conjunction with Miri-level National Sports Day here today (Oct 14).

The one-day competition, which features 30 teams, was launched by Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Lee Kim Shin.

On MiriFM’s ‘Sape’ proposal, Lee said he believed it could help promote Miri worldwide.

Lee shared with those present that when a Sarawak entourage performed at Naning in China during the Asian Expo, it was a crowd puller.

At that expo, Sarawak was named the ‘City of Charm’ and won the ‘Best City of Charm Pavillion’ title, he added. — DayakDaily
