KUCHING, June 19: Flushing activities are currently being carried out by LAKU Management Sdn Bhd (Laku) following the completion of repair works on the affected main water pipeline along Batu 7 Jalan Miri-Bintulu.
Laku in a statement today said as of 4.30pm, since water has been introduced into the pipeline, affected residents may experience colored water or low water pressure.
During this recovery period, Laku will continue to be open for water collection at designated points, namely in Lambir Water Treatment Plant (inside treatment plant), Miri Sentral bypass (near SL Supermarket and Miri Hospital).
It added collection points for water supplied by tankers are available at Permyjaya Commercial Centre (Desa Pujut 1, in front of Permyjaya Mall and Ah Hong Tudan), Senadin and Lutong (near Jumbo Seafood Restaurant and New World Mart Car Park), including in Piasau and Krokop (Taman Bulatan, indoor stadium compound, Masjid Daruk Ehsan Piasau).
It was reported earlier that the water disruption which began in the early hours of June 16 had affected some 65,000 households in Miri.
