KUCHING, April 12: The second phase of upgrading works at the Miri visitors’ information centre is nearing completion, with the project’s progress currently at 96 per cent.

According to a news report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Sarawak Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew said that the improvements were made to create a more comfortable and attractive destination for local and foreign tourists.

“I hope that this facility will attract more tourists to explore the beauty of the area,” said Ting, who is also Piasau assemblyman, following his recent work visit to oversee the progress of the Miri visitor centre project on Tuesday (April 9).

The project, which commenced on November 22, 2023, with an allocated budget of RM500,000, is slated for completion within the coming week. — DayakDaily
