MIRI, Oct 23: Police and members of the Pujut Resident Committee (RC Pujut) on Monday discovered a stash of stolen items inside bushes near a house in Pujut Padang Kerbau which had been broken into two days prior.

The bushes were located around 300 metres from the house.

Amongst items recovered at the scene yesterday morning was a 40-inch flat television and personal belongings such as clothes.

Prior to the discovery, RC Pujut and Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel dashed to the scene after receiving a distress call from a house owner who stayed nearby.

It is understood that two days prior to the discovery, a house in the vicinity has been broken into by thieves.

At the time, the owner of the house was away visiting relatives in ‘kampung’.

Sources added that the same house had also been broken into in September this year.

It is believed that the thieves had gained access into the house via the back door. — DayakDaily
