Miri Police launches RMCO enforcement

MIRI, Jan 12: Miri police launched operations to enforce Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) implemented to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

According to Miri Police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari, they have set up roadblocks at some areas in the district to prevent unnecessary travel during the period.

He said that the police will inspect those who failed to comply the order to stay home and advise those working in essential services classified by the National Security Council.

ACP Hakemal added that stern action will be taken against those who flout the 14-day RMCO.

“To those intending to travel within RMCO areas between districts(inter-districts) are required to apply for special permits from the police “, he advised.

These permits can be obtained at any police stations in Miri, Hakemal added.

On Monday, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced a 14-day conditional CMCO and Recovery Movement Control Order (MCO).

Six states are being placed under CMCO-Pahang, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan, while Sarawak and Perlis are under the Recovery MCO(RMCO). — DayakDaily
