KUCHING, Apr 21: Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, is set to officiate the 2026 Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) Programme for the Miri Division this Saturday (Apr 25).
In a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) report, the three-day event from April 24 to 26 is scheduled to take place at the Miri Stadium with a target attendance of 20,000 visitors.
According to Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, the programme is not merely a roadshow, but a strategic platform to enhance policy delivery and ensure the public gains a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of government initiatives at the grassroots level.
“The important thing is for the public to understand and be aware of what the government is implementing so that the relationship between the government and the people continues to be strengthened, and policy information can be delivered more effectively,” he said during a press conference after chairing a coordination meeting for the programme at the Miri Resident’s Office on Monday (Apr 20).
In addition to interactive activities, visitors will also have the opportunity to win various attractive prizes through an e-contest, including a Proton Saga car as the grand prize.
Shuttle bus services will be provided throughout the three-day programme, and members of the public, including those from nearby areas such as Brunei, are encouraged to attend the event.
Among the main highlights during the programme will be Miri Kitchen, which showcases a variety of local dishes while providing opportunities for entrepreneurs to promote their products and generate income. — DayakDaily
