MIRI, April 29: A 30-something housewife in Tudan Phase 5 here suffered a fright when she brought her child to the bathroom for a bath this morning.

Inside the bathroom, she spotted a metre-long cobra coiled up in a corner.

Horrified, she screamed, which prompted her 33-year-old husband to rush over to her aid.

Worried, her husband immediately called up Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) for help. Upon receiving the alert at 8.08am, three APM personnel rushed to the house and found the snake trapped in a window netting.

Meanwhile, the husband quickly brought his wife to the nearby Klinik Tudan for a checkup as the snake seemed to have spewed venom onto her face. Luckily only an outpatient treatment was deemed necessary. — DayakDaily
