In a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news, Ting highlighted that festivals of this kind play a vital role in spotlighting the talents of local craft artisans while creating new economic opportunities driven by arts and culture.

“The festival’s consistent organisation further strengthens Sarawak’s cultural identity on both national and international platforms, complementing the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance Sarawak’s creative industry,” he added.

Organised by the Sarawak Craft Council in partnership with various agencies and community organisations, the festival runs from Dec 10 to 14.

Additionally, the continued regional participation in the blowpipe competition once again reflects the festival’s appeal as a vibrant platform for cultural exchange and traditional sports.

Also present were Miri Division Resident Galong Luang, Sarawak Craft Council chief executive officer (CEO) Suriya Charles Buas, and Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation Sarawak Branch director Mohd Tuan Fu’ad Ariffin. — DayakDaily
