MIRI, March 16: Mayor Adam Yii today warned that stern action would be taken against those who had extended their houses illegally.

Yii noted that most of the illegal extensions involved turning houses into workshops.

“We have received numerous complaints of illegal extensions, where house owners converted their houses into workshops,” he told reporters covering his inspection of work on a new market in Lutong today.

“I cannot remember the exact figure, but we have received no less than 100 complaints.”

On the proposed market in Lutong that can host 50 traders, Yii said work was on track and this RM200,000 project was expected to be completed by the end of this month.

On the upgrading of a market in Maigold, Senadin, he said work on the project was in its final stage, which involves installing electrical wirings. — DayakDaily
