MIRI, June 1: The closure of Miri Central Market has been extended for 14 more days until June 13.
Miri City Council (MCC), in a statement yesterday (May 31), disclosed that the Central Market at Jalan Brooke here will be closed for a longer period following an order from the Miri health authorities.
In addition, all traders and stall owners at the market have been advised to undergo Covid-19 tests and observe self-quarantine for two weeks so as to ensure the operators’ good health.
Meanwhile, MCC also ordered the Saberkas night market, Wireless Walk and BBQ Stall at Pujut Corner to close effective from May 31 until further notice.
The order came after night markets were included in the list of activities not permitted during the current Movement Control Order (MCO).
