KUCHING, May 17: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued thunderstorm warnings to several areas in Sarawak.

Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Mukah (Matu, Dalat, Mukah), Bintulu (Sebauh), Miri (Beluru, Telang Usan, and Marudi), and Limbang.

The warning, issued at 3.55pm today, remains in effect until 6pm.

A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20mm/hour approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.

A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a maximum of six hours per release. — DayakDaily
