KUCHING, April 14: Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP) Sarawak will act on a lorry transport federation’s grouse over a new ruling on info stickers.

Its chairman Dato Peter Minos in a statement said the matter will be solved at the next board meeting on April 26 between LPKP, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Road Transport Department (JPJ), Computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre (Puspakom), and Ministry of Transport (MOT).

“We will solve this technical problem. LPKP will continue to be industry-friendly and has no intention to make life harder or difficult for the lorry, taxi n bus operators,” he said.

Meanwhile, following a meeting between LPKP Sarawak and the Federation of Sarawak Lorry Associations to discuss some issues affecting the lorry transport industry, Minos said that every issue can be resolved by meeting and discussion, not by hitting each other without talking.

According to him, the lorry transport industry is a big and vital component in any country in its economic development.

So it is useful that the regulating government agency like LPKP meets with the industry players over any contentious matter or issue, he added. — DayakDaily
