KUCHING, Jan 6: The Sarawak government has stepped in to assist in management matters of The Stirling development, to safeguard purchasers’ interests, and ensure compliance with the Strata Management Ordinance, 2019.
Datuk Michael Tiang, Deputy Minister For Public Health, Housing and Local Government Sarawak (Public Health and Housing) said this when chairing the meeting with purchasers of The Stirling development scheme, Miri.
The session focused on addressing outstanding issues that have delayed the formation of the Joint Management Body (JMB) and the holding of the first Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Following the meeting, the Commissioner of Buildings Sarawak (COB) will take steps to assist purchasers in forming the JMB and convening the inaugural AGM. A timeline has been set for both processes to ensure proper management is established without further delay.
“Certain non-compliance issues on the Strata Management Ordinance, 2019 has cause the delayed in formation of Joint Management Body and 1st Annual General Meeting.
“In view of this, our Ministry together with Miri City Council will assist to convene the 1st Annual General Meeting to form the Joint Management Body for The Stirling development scheme,” he said, in a statement.
“As the interim measure before the formation of Joint Management Body, Commissioner of Buildings Sarawak will appoint the registered property manager to assist in managing the development,” he added. – DayakDaily
