KUCHING, Oct 14: The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (Motac) invites representatives from the European online travel platform LastMinute.com for a familiarisation trip to Malaysia to create suitable tourism content and related packages.

Its minister, Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, in a statement today, said during a working visit to the United Kingdom (UK) to promote Malaysia recently, they visited the platform’s office and were informed by its Head of Travel Client and Services Scott Humble that the platform uses advanced tech that allows for precise targeting based on different travel need or tourist categories.

“This is particularly helpful in deploying and promoting online market strategies, especially in the European market.

“They also excel in digital content marketing and can create or edit content for Malaysian tourism, distributing it to targeted audiences,” he said.

He said that the familiarisation trip would enable them to create suitable content for Malaysian tourism and develop related packages.

“At the same time, we sought their assistance in analysing shortcomings in our market promotion efforts, from promotional activities to content marketing and tourism packages, and to provide us with recommendations for improvements,” he added.
