KUCHING, Dec 5: Turning conventional agriculture into business is the only way to improve the industry, says Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development Dato Sri Stephen Rundi Utom.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Rundi said farmers also have to adapt to advancement of technology and mechanical equipment.

He said that adapting to new technologies will enable new approaches to farming, including artificial intelligence (AI) and so on.

Rundi said this when speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Development of Metropolitan Food Cluster Opar (MFC Opar) in Lundu today.

Apart from that, he said the Sarawak government is also currently working together with the Netherlands in technology sharing for agriculture to improve the income local farmers. — DayakDaily
