Minister Alexander Nanta’s mother-in-law passes away

KUCHING, Oct 7: The mother-in-law of Federal Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Puan Sri Datin Sri Elizabeth Pawa, passed away at her residence here at 9.55am yesterday (Oct 6).

She was 76.

Nanta disclosed this in a Facebook post, also uploading a family photo with his mother-in-law.

“Her departure from this world has left an irreplaceable void in our lives, and we mourn the loss of a cherished mother.

“Puan Sri Elizabeth, who is also the wife to former Sarawak minister and Sarawak Legislative Assembly Speaker, Tan Sri Celestine Ujang, had touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her and her memory will forever be etched in our hearts,” he wrote.

He also said despite the profound sorrow that fills their hearts, Nanta’s family took solace in the cherished moments and memories they shared with the departed.

“In this time of profound grief, we find strength in the love and support of family and friends as we navigate this difficult journey of bidding farewell to a dearly departed soul.

“We humbly request your thoughts and prayers as we come to terms with this immense loss and celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved mother,” he added. — DayakDaily
