Mikai Mandau appointed to Tekun Board of Trustees

KUCHING, July 23: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) supreme council member Mikai Mandau has been appointed as member of Tabung Ekonomi Kumpulan Usaha Niaga (Tekun) Board of Trustees.

Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development (MEDAC) Minister Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said Mikai who was formerly Batang Ai state assemblyman, Chairman of Sri Aman District Council as well as Audit Executive of Petronas was a very experienced individual.

“Therefore, I am very confident that Mikai Mandau’s ability can help more entrepreneurs from Sarawak and provide the best service for Tekun Nasional,” said Wan Junaidi in a press statement today.


Wan Junaidi said he had completed the handing over ceremony for the appointment of eight new Tekun Nasional Trust board members.

“The Board of Trustees appointed consists of professionals from various corporate sector backgrounds,” he said.

He said the appointment brought the total number of Tekun Trust Board Members to 13 and he expressed confidence in the credibility of the leadership of the new board.

Meanwhile, to ensure services offered by Tekun can benefit more entrepreneurs in Sarawak, especially in rural areas, Tekun Nasional has taken the initiative to open nine branch offices in Sarawak in Sibuti (opened on 20 July 2020 ), Lundu, Serian, Daro, Sebuyau, Kanowit, Lachau, Betong and Marudi.

“Besides that, Tekun will also launch the Mobile Counter Service by using three Tekun Mobile operating in three stations, namely Bintulu, Sibu and Sri Aman,” he said.—DayakDaily
