KUCHING, Jan 21: Michael Kong, special assistant to Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen, has been elected to become the chief of Democratic Action Party Socialist Youth (DAPSY) Kuching for 2022.
He said the team decided not to appoint any committee members just yet to give time to recruit younger members with potential.
“We believe that this is in line with the decision of the DAP State committee to bring in more youth to be part of the decision making process of DAP.
“DAPSY Kuching will be taking a more proactive approach towards community issues and policies. Efforts will also be made to promote community living and healthy lifestyle,” he said in a statement today.
Kong also assured that DAPSY Kuching would work with the DAP State committee to empower youths and encourage more youth participation.
“At the same time, we will also ready ourselves to support the party in the event that GE15 (15th General Election) is called this year,” he added.
Yesterday, DAPSY Kuching had their annual general meeting (AGM) at the DAP headquarters. — DayakDaily
