Metro-E project next phase of TM ONE-SEDC collaboration to link 81 sites across S’wak

KUCHING, Dec 26: TM One, the enterprise solutions arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), and Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) Berhad have reaffirmed their commitment to accelerating Sarawak’s digital transformation through a new master service agreement focused on expanding digital infrastructure.

Central to this partnership is the Metro-E project, a scalable and secure high-performance bandwidth solution enabling connectivity of up to 10 Gbps.

This initiative will link 81 sites across Sarawak, supporting critical applications for enterprises and government agencies while bolstering innovation and access to digital services.

TM One Executive Vice President Shazurawati Abd Karim said the collaboration marked an important step in bridging Sarawak’s digital divide, particularly for underserved rural areas.

“We are pleased to partner with SDEC in advancing Sarawak’s digital transformation. The Metro-E project will bolster Sarawak’s digital economy, fostering innovation, improving access to digital services and bridging digital divide across locations,” said Shazurawati.

The five-year collaboration supports Sarawak’s Digital Economy Strategy, addressing challenges in connectivity and empowering communities with solutions like cloud computing, telemedicine, and online education.
