MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm warning for Sarawak, expected to last until 3pm today

KUCHING, June 14: A thunderstorm warning has been issued for Sarawak this morning by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to affect Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Sibu), Mukah, Bintulu, and Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri, and Marudi) until 3pm today, according to a MetMalaysia notice issued this morning.

“A thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity of more than 20 mm/hour that is close or expected to last for more than an hour,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
